I’ve visited several times and the views are lovely, with excellent staff, but lately food has become a problem. On recent trips, dishes advertised by the kitchen were often unavailable or the choice was very restricted. Last time it was basically curry, pizza, nachos and reheated options. I hope this gets sorted soon because it is starting to put us off returning.

Lovely casino with a brilliant outlook across the Mersey. Standards felt high throughout, the food was very good and there was plenty to choose from. I went for their house burger with fries and it was well above anything from a typical fast-food place. Staff were smart, helpful and welcoming, and the whole venue looked spotless with nothing worn or marked. Drinks were complimentary, poker runs daily with cash games as well as tournaments, plus there is a restaurant serving solid meals. Parking costs nothing and there were loads of spaces; you simply register the car at reception. Liverpool city centre is roughly a quarter-hour walk away.
The food is very good and the upstairs bar team do a strong job, but the organisation around poker was awful. We added our names to the waiting list and could see several unused tables, dealers ready, while roughly a dozen people were standing about hoping for a seat. The person running the desk asked us to wait upstairs. Nobody ever came to get us, so eventually we gave up and went home. Grosvenor really needs to get this part organised.
